GoECart Wins 2010 CQIA Innovation Prize for GoECart 8.1: 'The Ultimate Ecommerce Platform for the Ever-Changing Web'

Bridgeport, CT - August 16, 2010 - GoECart®, the leading provider of on-demand ecommerce solutions for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), today announced it has won a 2010 Silver Innovation Prize from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Partnership, Inc. The prize—which recognizes outstanding innovations in quality, performance and marketplace competitiveness—was awarded for GoECart 8.1, the company’s flagship ecommerce offering. This is the seventh time the company has won a distinguished CQIA honor.

In receiving the award, the company was recognized by twelve CQIA examiners for several new features of its ecommerce solution, including:

Examples of discounts merchants can offer include buy one product and get a second product at half off, get free shoes with purchase of a dress, receive 10% off all products in Toys category only, get free ground shipping on orders over $50, etc.
  • Adobe® Scene7® rich media integration, which enables GoECart merchants to enhance the customer experience and cut production costs with solutions ranging from dynamic imaging, video streaming, and online catalogs, to visual configurators, targeted email & print, dynamic asset management, and web-to-print. Scene 7 integrated ecommerce platform lets retailers cost-effectively add zoom and colorizing capabilities to an entire site, even across tens of thousands of products
  • Enhanced supply chain automation that enables a merchant’s ecommerce partners with outstanding drop shipping capabilities, including sourcing and management of products from multiple vendors at the SKU level, intelligent routing of orders based on customer proximity, and improved vendor self-service and automation.
  • A superior rich transactional email module, which empowers merchants to provide fully branded, personalized, and strategic communications for all activities stemming from the storefront. For example, transactional emails with individually targeted promotions can be automatically sent to customers regarding incomplete orders, abandoned shopping carts, or to request product reviews for recent purchases.
  • New and advanced integrations with existing ecommerce partners, including FedEx shipping services, PayPal payment services, Avalara sales tax solutions, and Omniture web analytics

The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) is the nation's first state level quality award using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence criteria. The "Five Steps to the Baldrige Award" with the entry level CQIA Innovation Prize, midlevel Breakthrough Award, and highest level Leadership Quality Award recognize manufacturing and service companies, health care, education, government, and other not-for-profit organizations. The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership, Inc., a Connecticut nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation, receives no money from state or federal government. All funding comes from application fees, conference registration, and generous sponsors.

For the first time since the introduction of the CQIA Innovation Prize in 1995, the examiners awarded four diverse platinum awards from 59 applications. Through a process of reading all the applications at their desk, recording a list of the top 30 applications to be tabulated with other examiners' work by an updated software program, the examiners were prepared for a face-to-face consensus meeting. During consensus, the examiners reviewed applications before coming to consensus on platinum, gold, and silver awards.

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program for Performance Excellence and Innovation is named for a Connecticut CEO who left Waterbury to serve as Secretary of Commerce in President Ronald Reagan's administration. The Baldrige Award, created by public law in 1987, is the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence that a United States' organization can receive.
